DUE: Hilltopper Marching Band Sign-Up

May 3

Many students find Marching Band is one of the more fun groups to be a part of at Glenbard West. The mix of ages in every section lends itself to meeting a wide variety of students who have various interests and activities that they participate in throughout the year, including playing sports. Whether it is band bonding activities like meeting up after a rehearsal at the Five Corner DQ or just having a senior band student say hello to a freshman band student in the hallway during school, the marching band is an accepting community that provides a place where students can learn and work together to accomplish a challenging task, while having a wee bit o’ fun at the same time.

At Glenbard West, Marching Band is an optional co-curricular activity open to all students enrolled in any of the bands at Glenbard West. The theme for The 2024 Hilltopper Marching Band is still in development. The group begins rehearsals in the summer, performs at the Glen Ellyn 4th of July Parade, rehearses before the school year begins including this year’s band camp, on the campus of UW-Whitewater (hopefully for the full five days – ha), and then many football game performances throughout the fall. Since we do travel to band camp, there is a cost that we must pass along to students who participate in marching band. For this upcoming season, that cost will be $350. For families new to the Glenbard West marching band, there are also some added one-time items (marching band shoes, etc..) that will need to be purchased.

Marching Band Schedule – A schedule of all of our events throughout the summer and fall marching band season. We have had problems with attendance, especially in the last couple of years; please help us perform our best with everyone at all of our performances and rehearsals. Please transfer these dates to your family calendar.
